Lecturer in Professional Practice in the Humanities

Hannah K Chapman

I am responsible for embedding professional practice as part of the Teaching & Learning experience for both staff and students.

Across the School of Writing, Publishing and the Humanities we explicitly and directly connect our learning and teaching to our research and engagement work. I am actively analysing our practice with teachers, researchers, students, practitioners and employers in the various locations in which our Teaching & Learning takes place – from seminar rooms to museums to community centres to public parks.

What are the inputs and outputs for experiential learning, and are these replicable across disciplines and applied contexts? What are the successes? Where to next, who do we share this with?

Through humanities for … we promote our professional practice in the Humanities to other organisations with whom we might work and through which we will develop our commitment to, and expertise in, experiential learning. Our objectives are concerned with showing (rather than telling) how the Humanities might make a difference to them

We welcome enquiries from individuals, organisations or groups interested in working with us to deliver inspiring and engaged learning and teaching for the humanities.
