ECRs, Peer to Peer

Humanities for… is about building community, nurturing research ambition, and digging deep for our professional practice.

We are therefore well attuned to the aims and objectives of the British Academy Early Career Researcher (ECR) Network initiative, and along with colleagues at the University of Exeter jointly lead the South West South Wales cluster.

This is a genuine peer to peer network that offers ECRs a safe space to share their aspirations, their ideas, their research, their concerns and their collaborative proposals.

In a dynamic Higher Education environment each working day can bring opportunity and challenge all at once. This initiative offers researchers starting out on their careers – in the humanities and social sciences – targeted professional development, networking opportunities and seed funding to further their research in a supported environment.

We recommend:

  • Finding out more via this link, if you identify yourself as an ECR, and are not yet a member of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network
  • Booking yourself on to activities, events or training, if you are already registered
  • Considering putting yourself forward as a contributor to the programme, if you were once an ECR and interested in sharing your insights and experience
